End Game Spoilers?
Just last week, Marvel released one of the most anticipated films that the movie industry has possibly ever had. Endgame grossed over a billion dollars in just the first week of its release which makes it the highest grossing film of the year. The rush to watch the movie was a result of many things including the fact that it is in my opinion, and in many other opinions, the most major film in the Marvel franchise, which is widely known in the movie industry. Another reason is because of the fear that people will spoil the movie for others. It wasn't uncommon for people to spoil Infinity War even when it had just been released, so people knew ahead of time to watch the movie when it was just released.
A large reason for the popularity of the movie was because of the influence of social media as well as the advertising that was used to promote the movie. Marvel already has a lot of momentum in the industry for its comics as well as its movies. They have always had the most popular superheroes that all had their separate stories and would occasionally cross over in movies. However, when the concept of Infinity War came around, the entire dynamic of the franchise changed. The stories of the heroes began to intertwine and because of its huge success, they made a sequel to Infinity War, called Endgame. However, it is almost unnecessary of me to even name the movie because it is so widely known. All over social media are spoilers to the movie. Everywhere you go, you will hear people talking about the movie. You cannot look up the movie without seeing spoilers. Part of the reason for the spoilers is that people get really excited about the movie and want to talk about it with others. Media has a way of bringing communities of people together, just like the Marvel industry has for many people. The franchise has done a great job of appealing to a wide range of people through their different heroes which is the reason that they are such as popular franchise.

It is crazy how media can spread news so fast. It is frustrating that media allows these spoilers to get out and around how it is does. But in a way Media is good for Marvel, for it allows Marvels new movie to get out and around interesting many people and allowing these people to want to go watch this movie. In all, media can end up helping profit Marvel. So media can be negative for fans but also positive for Marvel.
